Life is a fast race today, with people not having enough time for anything. Busyness has been accepted by all people as the way of life today. In this fast-moving life, our vehicles play a very important role. It is vehicles, that have redesigned the mode of communication from the primitive ages and has made it superfast today. If we stretch out of the window, we will see that there are so many vehicles on the road today, that there is literally no space to walk for the commuters. Out of the so many vehicles, 99% of the vehicles are private or personal vehicles.

Personal Vehicles are a boon for us all, but in a direct way, it acts as a bane for the others on the road, and in a broader sense for the environment. We see that in one family, we have more than 2-3 vehicles today. The members of a family could have afforded one vehicle and adjusted to travel in to their respective destinations together, but since they are financially capable, they prefer to have one vehicle each and sometimes even more than one vehicle each. All these personal vehicles use up so much of fuel that today we are experiencing shortage of fuel worldwide. Moreover, The more the number of vehicles on the road, the more pollution is being emerged in to the environment. With the heavy level of pollution is emerged in to the environment, the more the level of disintegration of the environment. The extent of pollution has reached to a level where there is almost no chance of retraction.

There have been many studies conducted on the ill effects of vehicles on the overall environmental pollution. Most of if these studies have concentrated their results and peculations in and around the use of personal or private vehicles. Almost all the theories have unanimously positioned the personal vehicles as the primary reason for the maximum share of the overall pollution contribution of the vehicle industry. We must ensure that we dig out of the menace of the pollution caused by the personal vehicles. For this, let us try to inculcate the following points, which may lead to us to a pollution free neighbor first, and then in the long run will lead to a pollution free country.

  1. The Government should ensure that it limits the number of vehicles to be used by the people in the society. As a preliminary condition, the Government can first introduce a restriction on the total number of vehicles that can be owned by a family, or can also introduce a restriction on a vehicle to be shared among how many members of a family
  2. There must be strict regulations to ensure that a vehicle is pollution control compliant. This will ensure that least pollution is emitted from the personal vehicles in the road.
  3. The Government should ensure that too old vehicles are not allowed on the roads. A time period of 15 years or 20 years must be levied on the life cycle of a personal vehicle on the road.
  4. Car-pooling is a very effective way of saving both fuel and also reducing the pollution in the environment. Moreover, it also directly helps us save a good amount of money.

All these steps can be implemented as primary steps to curb the pollution emitted from the personal vehicles, moreover, the fuel safeguard mission of the global integrated program will also get a definitive boost.
