Please choose an article on your own this week and share with the class (please include the source with a link using the chain-link icon in the tool bar) based on one public health problem that you feel is important to address in the U.S. or globally.
The article should explore public health measures that should be or that were taken to address the problem and explore the effectiveness of these measures.
Ideas (but you are not limited to these topics):
Choose an article that defines the public health* measures that different countries are taking to protect their citizens against Zika? (U.S., Maritius, etc.) In your opinion, are they effective?
Choose an article that defines the public health measures taken in regards to epidemics of the past such as SARS or H1N1 epidemics, Zika virus, typhoid, etc. and what we learned from them?
Choose an article exploring childhood vaccines (such as measles), and whether or not it is a public health issue that demands intervention.
*Public Health: "...any and all organized and collaborative efforts taken to protect community health." (Austin & Wetle, 2012)
