The reserach methodology includes the following three step:
1.Compute critical failure mode index.
2.Compute risk priority code
3. Compute crtical failure mode.
The ANOVA is used to compare the means of Risk Priority Number (RPN). It is usefull to overcome the shortcomings of traditional RPN calculation.
I have found this article intersting as, many a time the value RPN becomes same after collecting data from experts regarding probability(p), severity(s), and detectability(d) of a potential failure modes. Now though the level of severity or probability or detectability differ but RPN value may become same due to its multiplicative nature. As RPN=p x s x d. This article I found very intersting and usefull to conduct RPN calculation and that is very much essential to implement safety in industry.
