List two similarities and two differences between viruses and bacteria. Then, list a specific bacterial disease and tell how it is treated. List a specific viral disease and how it is treated.
ANSWER :- Two similarities between Bacteria and Viruses are:-
1. Both of them do not have nucleus but have genetic material that is DNA and RNA.
2. Both of them are virulent ( means disease causing)
Two differences between Bacteria and Viruses are:-
1. Bacteria is a single celled living organism while as Virus is not a living organism instead lives on a host cell.
2. Bacteria are large in size (1000 nm) while as viruses are small in size (20-300 nm).
Bacterial disease and it's treatment:-
CHOLERA is a bacterial disease in which patient suffers from severe diarrhea and dehydration. The bacteria that causes CHOLERA is Vibrio Cholerae.
Treatment is:-
1. Rehydration.
2. Antibiotics.
3. IV fluids ( Intravenous fluids).
Viral disease and its treatment :-
CHICKENPOX is a viral disease caused by Varicella Zoster Virus in which patient develops rash on body ( centripetal distribution) and fever.
Treatment of Chickenpox is:-
1. Relieving symptoms by anti histamine and analgesics.
2. High risk patient need antivirals.
3. Vaccine can be given as a preventive measure not treatment.
