- Encourage the patient to verbalize all the feeling and
queries,this helps to plan for care as per patient needs
- Assess patients knowledge in regards to disease condition,helps
to identify the patients learning capacity and interest to address
and manage the issue
- Provide a trust worthy therapeutic communication ,this induces
confidence in patient to come out and speak any confidential
matters
- Plan a care in accordance with the patient's culture and
beliefs because STI are common in some ethnic group
- Assess for any multiple partners or in relationship ,so that
the patient can be educated to inform them about the infection and
follow abstinence to prevent cross infection
- Educate in the language the patient best understands
