TODDLER

Toddler is the age group from 12 months to 36 months old. This is the age of great cognitive,emotional and social development.

GUILDLINES FOR THE MAINTAINENCE OF A GOOD HELATH IN TODDLERS

  • Encourage them for doing the physical activities.
  • Encourage the toddler to sleep every day atleast for 12 hours.
  • Train the child to do brushing by himself or herself.
  • Provide potty training for the child

SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Keep the medicine way from the reach of the child.
  • Store all cleaning products of other dangerous products out of the child.
  • Keep the child in a safe place while cooking or iroing
  • Turn the pot or pan handle inward the stove
  • Keep all items such as match box,lightners,curling irons,candles,hot foods and liquids out of the child's reach.
  • Keep the doors closed and locked.
  • Keep window guards for all the windows.
  • Put skid proof pads underneath all rugs.
  • When riding a vehicle the child should be restraint.
  • Never leave the child alone near water
  • Check the toys for removeble parts or sharp edges.

GUIDLINES FOR NUTRITION ACTIVITY

  1. Avoid providing over food for the child and maintain a proper amount to be provided.
  2. Provide regular meals and snacks by maintaing a fixed timings
  3. Always try new foods
  4. Prevent chocking by slowily providing the food,and avoid the food that are hard to chew or swallow
  5. Don't use desert as reward.
  6. Always supervise the child when he is eating.
  7. Discourage eating while watching TV
  8. Make the food easy for the toddler to eat:
  • Cut short the foods into pieces
  • Make the food soft and moist
  • Serve food near room temprature
  • Use the child size spoon or fork with dull prongs
  • Make the child to set comfortabily and securely.
  • Don't force the child to eat any food when he or she hesitate to eat any food.

PRE-SCHOOLER

Pre-schooler is the age group rom 3-5 years, This is the most and improtant developmental stage of the child. In this age the childrens reach the milestones in how they play,learn,speak,behave,and move(walking,jumping etc).

GUIDELINES FOR THE MAINTAINENCE OF A GOOD HEALTH FOR THE PRESCHOOLER

  • Encourage the child to play with other childrens
  • Teach how to behave with the elders
  • Encourage the child to perform the activities of daily living by himself or herself without depending anyone.
  • Encourage the childto maintain a good personal hygiene.
  • Provide proper vaccination inorder to prevent te diseases and maintain a good health at the correct time.
  • Don't give more chocolate to the child which can damage the tooth.
  • Encourage the child to do brushing in 2 times a day.
  • Discourage the use of mobile phones
  • Make sure that the child is getting adequate sleep(10-12 hours per day)

SAFETY GUIDELINES

  1. Tell the child why is important to stay out of traffic
  2. Tell him to not to play in street.
  3. Keep the child on her sidewalk and away from the street and always have her/him wear a helmet.
  4. Check the outdoor play equipments for parts or sharp edges.
  5. Watch the child when he is playing outside
  6. Teach the child how to be safe from around strangers.

NUTRITIONAL GUIDELINES

  • Tech the child to eat by himself or herself
  • Pass the message to the child about the imprtants of food and hoe it affects the body.
  • Avoid calling food "goo "or "bad"
  • Limit the intake of sweets
  • Encourage the child to drink water half an hour before or after the food not during.
  • Encourage the child eat together with the family

  • Encourage to maintain a healthy weight

SCHOOL AGE

School age group is determined from 6-12 years.In this age the child develops with an emotional,physical and mental abilities.

GUIDLINES TO MAINTAIN A GOOD HEALTH

  • Limit the amount of time spent watching the TV for the whole family
  • Encourage the child to do some physical activity
  • Encourage the child to wake up early n the morning.
  • Make the child to eat his breakfast compulsary.(breat fast is very important for the brain functioning)
  • Make sure that the child is getting adequate sleep ie,for 9-11 hours.

SAFETY GUIDLINES

  1. Always provide the safty equipments to the child when he is playing out of the house
  2. Advice the child on which side of the road he should walk and on which side he shold ride a bicycle.
  3. Teach the child how to swim
  4. The child should be worn the personal flotation devices during all boating.
  5. Advice the child to wear seat belt during the car rides.

NUTRITIONAL GUIDELINES

  • Findout the child is eating the food which he or she brought to the school by asking the classmates or teacher
  • Always try to provide the foods based on the likes and dislikes of the child.
  • Provide balance diet to the child
  • Discourage giving extra cash to the child while going the school, which may lead the child to buy jung foods.
