why does a balloon explode if it is blown continously? add formula for the explanation!
First of all let us understand elasticity= Its is the ability of a material to regain the shape when external force is applied or we can say ability to change the shape when the force is applied, or how difficult is to change the shape of the object when force is applied.
Now the answer is it burst up due to the same phenomena i.e Elasticity.
When we blow air into the balloon we actually start increasing the pressure inside it hence the balloon which is made of rubber expands due to elastic nature. For upto a certain limit the balloon expands and the moment when the pressure break the elasticity limit of the balloon it blows up. In other words the force applied by us became greater than the expansion capcity of the balloon and it blows up.
According to bulk modulus of elasticity which is given by where P is the change in the pressure of the balloon, V is the change in volume of the balloon with respect to initial volume v.
