1. How can segregation naturally occur within municipalities or neighborhoods?

Race segregation means separation among 2 or more groups based on their race.In the United states entire neighborhoods are dominated by only one ethic class. In Baltimore -Washington 60 percent of black people live there and in Nebraska has 88 percent whites.This segregation of blacks and white occur naturally and its not anyone's fault. We as humans gravitate to people that share our culture because we find it easier to live with them also naturally it is beneficial for them be in their own group and stay in their own group rather than mingling with the Blacks to avoid arguments and there is no good bond between the white and black people so they stay separately. That is why In US all blacks stay in black neighborhood and all whites stay in white neighborhood. Also if we look at India in terms of religion some colony are recognized as Christian or Muslim neighborhoods because it is natural for people of particular race or religion or any other group to stay in together because it is easier rather than mixing with other group.

Racial segregation occurred when the White Americans tried to keep Black Americans in a subordinate status by not allowing them to have equal access to public facilities and the wanted to ensure that black Americans lived far away from the White Americans. In year 1857 the northern Americans started to exclude the blacks from seating onto the seats of public transportation and restricted them from entering. In auditoriums and theaters, blacks were made to occupy separate sections way from the whites and there were also separate schools for them.White parents denied their children from talking or playing with the blacks. Most of the religious places were also segregated. Blacks were not allowed to move into white neighborhoods .
