1. Before 100 years back,health care system has not developed much as that of the present.The mortality rate was comparitively higher .Some of the major causes of death that contributed to the mortality rate are Pneumonia,Heart Diseases ,Tuberculosis,Gastro intestinal infections,Accidents,CVA and Stroke.

2. With the advancement in health care and new state-of-the -art technologies ,in the current century.it was possible to control diseases to an extent compared to the past.

a. The introduction of vaccination against some of the killer diseases resulted in a rapid decline in mortality.

b.The safety measures which was introduced by the government to reduce the number of motor vehicle deaths has significantly contributed to the decrease in accident deaths compared to the past.

c.Working places have been made more secure by improvising the safety measures and ensuring that all the employees get the benefits of medical insurance.

d In the past significant number of deaths has occured as a result of poor quality of water and food-borne infections,the current trend of implementing food safety regulations has reduced mortality related to food related infections.

e Improving the quality of drinking water ,reduced gastro intestinal infections ,as well as dental caries to a great extent.

f Smoking related diseases is common in US .With the combined effort by the government and public health sector,there has been frequent revisions of strategies to control smoking as well as substance abuse disorders.
