In evidence based anaylsis, why is the difference between a rating of “imperative” and “conditional” pertinent when making recommendations to a client?
Evidence - practice based has been defined as the
conscientious, expliclit, and indicious use of current best evidence
in making decisions about the care of individual patients..
? A conditional recommendation reflects a lower degree of certainly
in the appropriateness of the patient -care strategy for all
patients..It requires that the clinician use clinical knowledge and
experience and strongly considers the individual patients values
and preferences to determine the best course of action..
? Review and evaluation of evidence using the grade
methodology..Doctors using practice guidelines..
?Strong recommendations: we recommend almost all patients should
receive the recommended course be used as a quality criterion or
performance indicator,,
?Conditional recommendation: we suggest different chlices will be
appropriate for different patients, and the doctor must help each
patient arrive at a managemant decision consistent with her or his
values and preferences..
