Body fat content is a more important indicator of health than is weight-for-height.
Explain the above sentence with one example.
The body fat is the amount of fat contained by the human body.
There are two types of body fats : essential body fat and storage
body fat. Essential body fat is the necessary amount of fat that
helps to carry physiological functions of the body. Storage body
fat is the fat stored in adipose tissues.
The body fat composition measurement is a better tool to assess a
person fitness than the weight-height measurement.
The weight height measurement may be high in people of same age and
gender with higher bone and muscle mass but does not have high
content of fat. In such circumstances tools that measure only the
body fat content are more helpful and reliable indicator of
fitness.
For eg: individual A regularly exercises and have a high muscle and
bone mass. He does not have excess body fat.
individual B live a sedentary life and have a high body fat and low
muscle and bone mass.
So when the weights height measurement is taken for A and b both
have same results. While body fat composition measurement will
measure only the body fat and result will be higher in B than A. So
we would know that B has lower fitness level than A
