Let’s take Apple Inc. which belongs to technology industry, the core competency of the company is use of innovative technology to maintaining high quality and differentiated products. Sustaining competitive advantage is very difficult in such a fast changing business environment therefore responsiveness to changing business environment and searching new sources of competitive advantage is very important of the company. We can say that the responsiveness of the organization on the fast changing environment is its ability to sense and understand the new behavior responses from the new business environment. The company has achieved a competitive advantage by giving differentiated quality product to its customers as they have unique range of products like Mac computers, iPhone, smart phones, iPad, tablets, Apple Watch smart watch etc. Therefore, in my opinion the most important competency for any company is maintaining high quality for its products and high standards for its services so that customers can trust company and become a loyal customer in long run.
