marijuana refers to the dried leaves of cannabis sativa or
cannabis indica plants. marijuana is used as a psychotropic drug,
similar to alcohol. marijuana contains a ingredient called
tertahydrocannbinol(THC), which is called a mind altering agent.
cannabinoid receptors are concentrated in the certain areas of
brain that are associated with
thinking,memory,pleasure,coordination and perception. THC attaches
to these receptors and activates them. it affects the above said
functions of the brain. the use of marijuana can cause problems for
younger people, the major problems include decrease in IQ, loss of
memory, and cognition. even though there are some medicinal uses
for the marijuana, this drug is considered as illicit drugs because
of its effects on young people. people using marijuana may also
suffer long term effects like breathing problems, increased heart
rate, intense nausea and vomiting, temporary hallucinations
etc.
the reasons which say marijuana should no be legalised are
addictive perception as it is hghly addictive and have long term
addiction, lact of convincing medicinal uses, even though it has
some medicinal uses it does not stand upto the mark as its illicit
uses are more when compared to proper medicinal uses.
