1. Cleared by arrest:-

A crime is cleared by arrest when a person has been:-

a) arrested

b) charged with an offence

c) handed over to the court

2. Cleared by exceptional:-

Following four conditions must be met to clear by exception:-

a) offender is identified

b) evidence is gathered against him

c) location of an offender is identified

d) circumstance encountered which lead to non-arrest, charge, and prosecute the offender. example death of the offender.
