Occupation and Profession :
Occupation : Occupation is any kind of job that a person undertakes to meets his requirement and living. This includes any kind of skill done to make more income. Example include business, part time jobs etc..They do not necessarily require a training or education to that particular skill and are most acquired through various sources. The work pattern is also not well organized with specific rules and regulations.
Profession : Unlike occupation, profession cannot be simply defined as means of income. An occupation becomes a profession when one strictly is trained for that particular designation through education and experience in a higher level and works through a conduct of set rules and regulations and is involved in activities like service and associated.
For example: The people working in a healthcare team like a nurese.A nurse is professionally trained to acquire the required medical skills and practices them through residency, internships etc before actually being designated in a hospital for the position. And again the work is based on a set of algorithms that focuses and uplifts patient care and support. Therefore, nursing is a profession and nurse is a professional.
