Post Traumatic Stress Disorder:

PTS is a disorder related to mental health that develops after triggered by a life-threatening situation. EX: accidents, natural disaster, sexual assault. Everyone will be frightened while experiencing a traumatic event, but usually, they come out after a while.Someone who continues frightening experience for a long time may be diagnosed as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

It may be acute or chronic. Symptoms may appear within 3 months or maybe a long time of over a year. The recovery period also varies based on the condition of the patient. Many factors such as previous traumatic experience, age, gender can lead to PTSD.

There are 4 types of Clinical Diagnostic Characters causes by PTSD

Relieving the event or Re-experiencing symptoms:

Recurrent unwanted memories of the traumatic events.
Flashback- Relieving that the event is happening again.
Getting frequent nightmares of the event.
Continuous Reminds of the event leads to emotional distress or physical reactions.

2.Avoiding Situations:

Try to avoid talking or thinking about that particular event.
Avoid the scenario that reminds the situation.

3. Negative Beliefs and feelings:

Negative thoughts of oneself.
Feeling guilt or shame.
Hopelessness about life
Detach from the family members and friends.
Lack of interest in the daily activities
Emotionally imbalanced.

4. Hyperarousal:

Always alert and easily frightened.
Feeling of danger
Problem in sleeping.
Unable to concentrate
Self-destructive or aggressive behavior
