Hypertension, also known as High Blood Pressure, has no early significant symptoms yet is associated with risk of heart failure, stroke and kidney failure. Research shows Hypertension in conjunction with high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes, and obesity, increases risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD).
What is your opinion about hypertension rates rising among today's college students?

Hypertension is characterized as abnormally high blood pressure , especially arterial blood pressure .
Their are several reasons as to why young adults and COLLEGE- AGED students has maximum predisposition of prehypertension or hypertension later in life . The risking factors include alcohol consumption, poor eating habits, sedentary life styles . Due to typical changes in the college student behavior includes, decrease in exercise and activity levels , and increase in sitting time, changes in eating and sleeping pattern, increased stress, weight fluctuations as well as tobacco and drug use.
Prolonged these activities result to have a potential to become cardiovascular disease risk factors. males are likely to more prone to these problems due to cigarettes and consume more beer than female students.
The increasing obesity and overweight is important indicator to develop hypertension .
