Preventive Dental Unit Or simple PDU is a place where importance of oral dental hygiene can be taught, to be honest in an informal way and having no interruption due to dental surgery. It is a way of teaching individuals or a group of people towards maintaining proper dental care.

For setting up a proper dental unit, the first important thing is to find or locate a suitable place. Then next comes staff resources. Discuss with them regarding the requirements of the unit. Medicine samples, media for explaining purpose I mean anything like board, projector, etc. Then a proper funding is necessary, dentists, machines to check oral hygiene.

Inclusions:- Oral Hygiene equipments, Xray machine, education system to teach how to take care of teeth and maintain oral hygienehygiene, various treatment setup such as cleaning, sealants, fluoride treatments. Educational instructions to prevent tooth decay, proper brushing and flossing method.

Importance of setting up:- -For easy access, -so that people don't get frighten to come to a clinic, -treatment with proper education helps to prevent future problems.
