There are several areas where we can find that real people rise to power, they abuse their power or fail to maintain focus on other people, these probable areas as stated below:

  • Political community/group
  • Government offices/place where bureaucratic culture exists
  • Corporate areas
  • Sport clubs/team
  • Various Governance system areas.

Real people become corrupt and abuse power, there are several reasons like they either lose empathy or they might be unaware of empathy. Once they come into power, they start to unlearn and stop learning new things. Real people may become dictator and start pressurizing other people for the benefits of few selective people.

Here, following are the few actions can be taken by me to be more mindful of the paradox of power as I will be starting my career or experience a new team experience; these actions are as stated below:

  • Never stop learning: we should be innovative, creative in every approach and we should not stop learning
  • Be cooperative and keep empathy for others: here, we should part of an environment, where, culture should not affect us negatively and we should be keeping empathy for others, we should understand other people’s situation before applying judgment or rule.
  • Any judgment should be taken into Ethical ground.
  • If I am given power or authorized with any powerful position, I should take it sincerely and take oath to bring improvement in the community through creating effective stakeholder engagement.
  • I must understand the way communication is done or the way information flow takes place. As with improvement of communication/ information flow, I can utilized my authorized power more precisely that would bring more positives on others.
