According to the pluralist model of power, what protects people from the abuse of power by any one group? In what ways does this work in the United States?

Solutions

Expert Solution

In the pluralist model of power the power is distributed in many parts. There is no centralised power. The power extends from the upper level to the lower levels. In each section there is some independent power. There are many duties and responsibilities that are performed independently by these agencies.

In the pluralist system of power there is no individualized power system. The limitation of power is clearly marked there. Therefore no conflict occurs there. There are many autonomous bodies that exercise the power and implement their duties. The pluralist of power recommends many autonomous bodies.

In the United States the pluralist model of power is exercised with democracy. There may be such model without democracy. But in democracy it is more effective. The Congress bears some specific power mentioned in the constitution. There are constitutional branch, executive branch and judicial branch. Again, there are many states and these states have specific powers that they can exercise independently. On the other hand, the judicial branch, executive branch and constitutional branch are autonomous and they do not interfere to each other. Therefore there is no conflict.
