What are some of the important steps that an organization can follow to ensure a workplace free from sexual harassment
1. Adopt a sexual harassment policy.
In the employee handbook, the organization can have a policy for sexual harassment. That policy should:
- Clearly define the sexual harassment
- State the terms that the organization will not tolerate sexual harassment
- State that the organization will fire any wrongdoers
- Define a clear process for filing sexual harassment complaints
- State that a thorough investigation will be conducted fully if any complaint is filled
2. Train the employees at the workplace
Once a year, an organization should conduct training sessions for employees. The purpose of training should be to teach employees what sexual harassment is and let employes know that they have a right to file any complaint of they face any type of sexual harassment.
3.Train supervisors and managers
As employees, it is equally necessary to conduct training sessions for supervisors and managers that must be different from the one which is give to the employees. The training session should educate the managers and supervisors about sexual harassment and explain how to take care of all the complaints and never overseen them.
