• Describe the process of managing stakeholder engagement and how to create and use an issue log.
Here, to manage stakeholder engagement, we will start working and communicating with various necessary stakeholders, as we have already defined needs, requirements, expectation of each stakeholder, this process would be part of executing process group and we will fulfill their needs, expectations, and requirements by working with them. During this process, we will identify and update various issues as applicable, such issues that we can understand this time as we have started working with them. Hence, we will revise or update issue log during managing the process of stakeholder engagement. We will also keep emphasis on improving their engagement level. To manage this process, we need several inputs like project management plans, project documents change log, issue log, lesson learn register and stakeholder register, various organizational factors and external factors also can affect this process. Hence, we should identify for managing such process. We can get outputs like project management plan updates, project document updates – issue log updates, change log updates, we can get various change requests as well. Few are the tools and techniques can be used here like perform expert judgments, we can take feedback from stakeholders, we can work on various interpersonal skills, define ground rules and conduct meeting.
To create issue log, we will build a template and we will write issues ID, category of the issue, description of each issue, source of each issue, impact on various objectives like scope, cost and schedule, when such issues should be resolved and how their urgency level is. Who are the responsible parties to resolve the issues? Appropriate response for each issue and current status of each issue, any comments if needed. We will prepare the issues log during executing the project work and such issue log gets updated during life cycle of the project.
