  • Phlegm
  • Blood bile.
  • Yellow bile.

He goes further to recommend specific diets for cleaning of purified juices and he often used purging and blood letting.Galen's ideas are very helpful with regard to development of natural history of diseases. His theory explains the hoe supernatural beliefs contribute to causes and cure for diseases. His theory can therefore be used in interactions with patients to:

  • Observe for positive as well as negative factors that influence patient health.
  • Demotivate the negative beliefs a patient might have.
  • Encourage patients to have positive beliefs.

To achieve greater certainty of knowledge within a discipline, one must embrace the practice of consultations with expertise on issues one feels they are not well versed with, regularly attend programs that offer recent developments in the discipline and invest in knowledge seeking activities such as reading through informational articles and recognized sources that have credible accurate data on the discipline.

Having certainty of knowledge enables a health care provider to provide quality health care as they are confident of the methods they apply during patient diagnosis and treatment. The health care provider is also confident when doing the job and can educate the patient knowing that the information they are providing is accurate, credible and reliable.
