Enalapril is a ACE inhibitor which means angiotensin coverting enzyme.It is supposedto be used only for the indicaion prescribed.Always tell the doctor if you are on any medicaions like lithium, NSAIDS or diuretics. Always educate the patients that do not take alcohol as it again lowers the blood pressure and can cause side effects,do not use salt substitutes or potassium supplements,and avoid getting too fast from the bed.

Recommended dose of medicaion, route and best time.

Doasge as prescibed by the doctor.The usual dosage for adults in Hypertension are;

Initial dose; 5mg orally once a day

Maintenance dose;10 to 40 mg orally per day as a single dose or in divided dose.

Maximum dose;40 mg orally daily as a single dose or in 2 divided dose.

In combinaion with diuretics;

initially 2.5 mg orally once a day(oral)

parentral;1.25 to 5 mg over a5 minute every 6 hours.

In CHF;

initial dose; 2.5 mg orally once a day

maintenancedose;2.5 to 20 mg daily in 2 divided dose

maximumdose; 40 mg orally per day in 2 divided dose.

In Left ventricular dysfunction;\

Initial; 2.5 mg orally twice a day

maintenace dose; 20 mg orally per day in 2 divided doses.

Since first dose of medicine makes you dizzy it is always better to take at bedtime. once you are ok , then you can take any time . Try to take at the same time.

Lab result needed;

Complete blood count

renal function test

lithiulm toxicity

Approved use and most common disease treated;

hypertension

congestive heart faiure

left ventriculr dysfunction

NEBIVOLOL;

It is a beta blocker.it can be used alone or with other medicaions. it helps to relax blood vessels and slow heart rate to improve blood flow and decrease blood presure.

DOSE, ROUTE AND BEST TIME;

for hypertension;5 mg orally once a day. dosage adjustment;titrate dose at two week intervals upto 40 mg once a day and maximu dose is 40 mg per day.

ROUTE; oral

BEST TIME;can be taken either before or after a meal. once a day. remember to take a the smae time.

liver function test

blood sugar

complete blood count.

For dudeonal ulcer.20 mg orally once a day.

for h-pylori infection; 40 mg orally once a day/20 mg orally twice a day.

for gastric ulcer;40mg orally once a day

for erosive esophagitis;20mg orally once a day

for multiple endocrine adenomas, systemic mastocytosis,hypersecretory conditions etc.orally once a day maximum 360 mg per day

complete blood count

DISEASES TREATED;

duodenal ulcer,h-pylori infection,GERD,erosive esophagitis,multiple endocrine adenomas, mastocytosis, hypersecretory conditions.

WARFARIN;

It is used to treat blood clots.or to prevent clots from forming in the ody.it is also called as blood thinner.it is anticoagulant.

ROUTE, DOSES AND BEST TIME;

parentral or oral route, dose is baseon response to treatment,meedial condition and lab test.It can be taken with or without food.usuall once a day.

LAB test; PT INR test should be carried out.

Diseases treated;

Treat or prevent the formation of blood clots in heart attack,stroke atrial fibrillation.

NO off label uses for these drugs.
