On Page 151 explains that “Piaget suggests that in order to achieve equilibrium the child must first encounter disequilibrium."
So it generally happens that you are concentrating on a subject
and your mind starts wandering in a different world, sometimes you
realize it soon and get back to where you left but at times
complete lecture is over and you are unable to focus which might
lead to disequilibrium in class.
You think that you have wasted time and missed an important lecture
or information which you won't be able to understand later. This
happens quite frequently. To overcome this situation or anything
related to this, one must practice meditation so that you can
concentrate on one particular thing at a time and your mind does
not start wandering. It is the easiest possible solution.
Generally, whenever I came across a situation where I was not able
to understand something, I came back from class, searched all
available material related to that topic and video lectures as well
so that I have enough sources to at least get an idea of whatever
was taught and later went to doubt clearing sessions of that
particular professor. This has always helped me concentrating and
understanding whatever I missed in class.
As Piaget suggests that "in order to achieve equilibrium the child
must first encounter disequilibrium."
Once you realize that you are lagging concentration or are in
disequilibrium then only you can make efforts to work in a way to
achieve equilibrium in your life.
