Why didn’t Technocracy destroy the thought-world of the tool-using culture? What happens when technological world views take over the traditional world views?
Technocracy does not destroy the thought-world of the tool-using culture because it’s effect is counterbalanced with cultural activities.
Nature of the technology is cold nature and independent from any feelings and emotions. Hence, without the culture and religious counterbalancing it technology may lead to the destruction of the Harmony of the world and world will become a harsh place for living beings.
If culture and religious ideology do not balance the harsh nature of technology. It will lead the world to destruction.
For example: In recent decades technical advancement is reaching a new level. due to it, we see lots of deadly wars and destruction. Hence, we can say that culture is as important a technology and science.
According to Heidegger, there is the relationship between technology and culture.
Heidegger was trying to shift the discussion about technology to philosophy and wanted to increase the historical scope of the discussion about technology when he argues that the essence of technology is not technological.
He was trying to states that for the complete understanding of the relation between technology and humanity we need to understand our perception about instrumentation: what is the purpose of getting our goals and making things done,.Heidegger's search for the true meaning of the instrumentality brings him to a philosophical problem: the question of causality.
