Recommendations for improving Cardiovascular Health:-
1. Eat a heart-healthy diet which includes vegetables and fruits, lean meat and fishes, whole grains and healthy fats.
Reason- Healthy diet can improve blood pressure and cholesterol levels and lower the risk of type II diabetes.
2. Exercise or walk- aim for atleast 30 to 60 minutes of physical activity daily
Reason- Physical activity reduces the risk of heart diseses by controlling your weight and maintain a healthy blood pressure(BP), sugar and cholesterol level.
3. Do not smoke or consume tobacco and also avoid passive smoking
Reason- smoking damages the heart blood vessels and reduces the oxygen content of the blood and increases BP and heart rate.
4. Maintain a healthy qeight and Body Mass Index(BMI)
Reason- Excess weight increases the risk of developing high BP, cholesterol, triglycerides and type II diabetes.
5. Get quality and sound sleep
Reason- Lack of sleep poses a higher risk of obesity, high BP, heart attack, diabetes and depression.
6. Get regular health screenings
Reason- Regular screeings could tell about the early risks and whether any action needs to be taken or not.
Recommendations for improving Gastrointestinal Health-
1. Eat a diet high in fibers ( both soluble and insoluble)
Reason- High-fiber diet helps to protect or treat conditions like diverticulosis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and hemorrhoids.
2. Limit food with high fat content
Reason- Fatty foods slow down the digestion process making the person prone to constipation.
3. Incorporate probiotics and prebiotics in your diet
Reason- they keep the body helathy by removing the bad effects of antibiotics and stress, they also strengthen the immune system and treat IBS.
4. Maintain an eating schedule-
Reason- healthy meals and snacks on a regular schedule help digestive system to be in shape.
5. Stay hydrated
Reason- Drinking plenty of water allows bulkier stools to pass through more easily and it also keeps the colon clean.
6. Quit smoking and excess caffeine and alcohol consumption
Reason- These interferes with digestive health and leads to problems like ulcers and heartburn. Caffeine makes you dehydrates and in turn will make you constipated.
7. Exercise regularly-
Reason- Regular exercise reduces constipation and helps in maintaining a healthy weight.
