The following food is OK on a Renal tray:
Select one:
a. Spaghetti Marinara
b. Orange juice
c. Apple pie
d. Mashed potatoes
e. Vanilla ice-cream
*A. Spaghetti Marinara can be include in renal tray.
*A renal diet is one that is low in sodium, phosphorous, and
protein. You can use vegetables, grains and pasta as the main dish
and small pieces of meat, poultry or fish as the side dish. You can
also add low-protein pastas to help keep protein within
limits.
*We can't prefer option B, C, D(orange, apple, potato) because they
are high in Pottasium. When kidneys fail they can no longer remove
excess potassium, so the level builds up in the body. High
potassium in the blood is called hyperkalemia, which may occur in
people with advanced stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Some
of the effects of high potassium are nausea, weakness, numbness and
slow pulse.
*We can't also prefer option E vanila icecream because it is rich
in protein. High protein intake may lead to increased
intraglomerular pressure and glomerular hyperfiltration. This can
cause damage to glomerular structure leading to or aggravating
chronic kidney disease (CKD). Hence, a low protein diet (LPD) of
0.6–0.8 g/kg/day is often recommended for the management of
CKD.
*So it is better to include Spaghetti marinara in the renal tray.
