Is the two-state solution still possible? Is the United States indispensable to an agreement between Israel and Palestinian authorities? Are Israel settlements the biggest obstacle to an agreement? Why? (Excerpts from Global Issues: Selections from CQ Researcher - Chapter 2 - Israeli-Palestinian Conflict)
ANS) Yes, if they both agree. It could be possible,Nonetheless they have to know each other very well in terms they wanted to sorted out.Firstly, there are 3 types US assistance to the palestinians-The first is USAID, the conduit by which the State Department provides aid to countries across the world. The second is the economic support for law and order in the Palestinian Authority. The third is the US support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, or UNRWA.Keeping in Mind US is the largest donor of financial aids to the Palestinians, with this assistance touching near to every aspect of life in the Palestinian Authority itself. But the president has been threatened earlier to end this aid for palestinians, angered by Ramallah’s refusal to cooperate with the US efforts to jump-start Israeli-Palestinian peace talks after he declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel in December. And the Mighty Palestinians wants East Jerusalem to be the capital of their future state.
US is the biggest and real obstacle to peace between israel and palestinian.Israeli settlements are not an obstacle for peace'.That is True to be honest. Yet,Palestinians argue settlements, along with Israeli-only roads, security barriers and military checkpoints, threaten the viability of a two-state solution. Most countries across the world view settlement building on Palestinian land as a violation of international law.Personally i don't think that the settlements are an obstacle for peace, The only obstacle for peace are the palestinians.
