Transportation security depends on the development of intelligence. What is the role of the TMC, EOC, and FC in developing, confirming, and disseminating intelligence?
TMC: TMCs gather
and spread travelers' data to people in general, which helps
control and smooth traffic tasks and gives data to proper staff to
a brisk and proficient reaction during episodes, crises and
emergencies. It tracks reported traffic incidents on the roadway
system for which they are responsible and may have the capability
to monitor record incidents on other Roadways system traffic
incidents are sometimes reported by responders such as safety/
surface petrol operator and state police and recorded by the TMC
and/or CAD system. The information included time, date, location,
responders and detailed description of the incident. Mostly, the
incident logs are available in real-time via the internet. The time
of the day when an incident is declared in recorded to assist in
performance measurement. Following are the things which help FC in
developing, confirming, and dissemination intelligence:-
1.Incident logs
2.historical network statistical records
The information provided by the TMC is used by potential users.
These potential users are EOC and FC. So the role of EOC and FC
is:
EOC: The main functions of EOCs are to gather,
accumulate and break down information; settle on decisions that
ensure life and property, keep up coherence of the association,
inside the extent of pertinent laws; and spread those decisions to
every concerned organization and people.
FC: An FC will monitor traffic incidents to identify whether there are patterns and potential for a secondary incident. The logs are not kept at FCs according to one or what they will have access to this information on an as-needed basis by state police division officer or TMC operator.
