(Answer) The title of the article for discussion is “Melinda Gates is leading a new coalition to bring more women of colour in tech.” This article is a report of the work Melinda Gates is currently doing with her “Gates foundation.” Gates is currently posting interviews of managerial staff all of her social media and talking about hiring styles. The managers who are being interviewed are being asked about what they do to make sure that the typical engineering workplace has a certain amount of women of colour.
Gates is attempting to find out what is done wrong or right by these managers. The idea is to spot the erroneous methods and do away with them in order to replace them with the newer methods that actually work.
Furthermore, Gates has collected quotes from a few company people who claim how diversity and inclusion have led to such varied and unique contributions in the workplace. People talk about how a different perspective or an outlook towards a project has only managed to enhance the quality of the work and not diminish it in any way.
The share of women and ethnic minorities in workplaces has increased considerably in the year 2018. Gates is attempting to find out what tech companies are doing to reverse these trends of hiring from majority groups only. This campaign is call “rebooting representation” for this very purpose.
