· The department of defence communicates the crisis coordination centre to take quick actions against any emergency or disastrous situation.
· It ensures food and commodity protection to the citizen on behalf of the local government.
· The department of defence establishes quick communication through powered aircraft and aircrews during the emergency
· Sends quick rescue team in the hurricane-affected areas
The roles of the NORTHCOMin domestic emergency management are as follows:
· It protects the territory and national interests in the Puerto Rico, continental the United States, and Canada during the emergencies.
· It protects the gulf Mexico region, straits of Florida, and the Bahamas ranging approximate 500 nautical miles by sending relief and rescue team on behalf of the USA government during the emergency
· The organization is responsible for providing emergency relief to theatre security cooperation in various regions of Mexico, and Canada during hurricanes, fires, floods, and earthquake.
