Citing two to four additional scholarly sources, explain how an instructor might improve student performance for a large class (75 students) and a small class (15 students) using facilitation method(s).
As far as a large class counting to 75 students and more are concerned, splitting students into batches or small groups would be the effective one. This grouping method shall be intentional and random. Factors such as brainstorming ideas, task sharing, and team accelerated instructions would foster the ability of each student to think on the subject and have interaction with the teacher and among team members for clarifying doubts. As far as a small class of 15 students is considered, direct instruction method of facilitation would be enough to improve student performance. Here there will be three parts such as introduction, instruction, and completion. Here, the student strength is limited and hence the introduction part itself will help grab the attention of all students on to the topic as Q&A session is possible with each of them followed by discussion before proceeding to the instruction part.
