Aeneas is himself an example of many of these personal and public virtues that Romans were attached to. He was one of the few who was not captured and enslaved when Troy fell. After the escape, he and the group of men he fled with became known as the Aeneads - this portrays the 'Spirit of Rome' - patriotism if we may say in today's terms. They wanted to flee to Italy to survive and establish a Roman society. He faced so many trials such as the death of his father in Sicily and loss of route by strong winds leading to Carthage. His original plans were put to test. He did not lose courage and displayed Industriousness, dutifulness, and sternness. He was a courageous leader and led by example. In spite of his marriage to Dido, he considered his Spiritual Authority to return to Rome. In spite of Dido's suicide, Aeneas and Aeneads left Carthage for their duty and dignity. This shows that he lived by example by valuing his duties more than his personal preferences.

The Romans celebrated their culture and beliefs with columns and friezes, for example. Consider how the Roman-style architecture in such cities as London, Paris, Toronto, Washington, D.C. help bring Aeneas to the present time.

Roman architecture is attributed to most of the innovations in architecture in the current world. Precisely, the use of concrete, public structures, road systems, and general infrastructure were all built with the wellbeing of the society in mind. The bridges and connecting roads are all groundbreaking ideas by the Romans. Most of the official buildings in the U.S are influenced by Roman architecture. The arches denoted significance in Roman times, today any arch we see in prominent U.S buildings denotes that the significance is retained. The tale of the founding of Rome is awe inspiring and is the source of many many wonderful architectural monuments that reflect the personal and public virtues that the Aeneads had. They are magnificent and a source of inspiration for any architect in the contemporary world.
