a) Decent work - the concept used by UN’s International Labour Organisation (ILO)
a) According to ILO or International Labour Organisation, decent work is the term which deals with involving and providing opportunities for work that are considered productive and have a fair income attached to it. It deals with social protection of the employees and their families, security, personal development and growth ideas, freedom for people to express and participate for the decisions and thus providing equal access of resources to all the employees regardless of the diversity they belonging to, to make a sense of growth and empowerment within themselves.
b) The concept of Decent work is usually applied in both the informal as well as formal sector of the industry and economy. It is used for addressing all kinds of people, families and jobs. As the value of human resource is increasing in industry and nature of economy, it is very important to determine and know that the needs and respect should also be imparted to them at all levels. Thus, this concept of decent work complies with the changing employement and needs of people to provide them the equal opportunity and growth levels regardless of their diversity where they could effectively and efficiently contribute their level best for the productivity level. This would help the employees feel satisfied, empowered and happy within their jobs as their personal as well as organisational goals are being fulfilled together.
