Clients who repeatedly access the health care system searching for answers often undergo many diagnostic tests and exploratory surgeries. What risks could this pose for the client?

It is true that many clients are repeatedly being undergone various diagnostic tests and procedures unnecessarily . This is happening around the world and it causes certain risk to the clients.

Firstly, unwanted tests and procedures cause an extra financial burden to the clients. Directly or indirectly it will harm the entire family and the healthcare system. Besides this, those who are in need of care may not recieve effective medical attention due to the unnecessary medical appointments.

Similarly, the clients can have serious helath problems related to this exploratory surgeries. Sometimes, it may cause some adverse events or even death as a complication due to the surgery or medicines. For instance, many surveys and studies have found that so many clients are advised to do knee replacement surgeries around the world. Later, the surgery related thrombotic problems occur and it affects the helath of the patient.

Moreover,  incorrect diagnosis and  further detailed diagnostic studies may lead to psychological problems like depression and anxiety. For instance, nowadays, it is commonly seen that all the lumps are being tested for cancer. It will make the client and the family anxious until they come to know the lab result. Therefore, overuse of medical services need to be evaluated as it may cause potential risks to the clients.
