There are researches conducted on the American population that
evidently state that the country has substantial narcissism among
people.A 'narcissism index' was created to estimate the narcissism
in the states and it was found that Virginia, Delaware , New York
were among the highest in the rank.Over the years it shows that
narcissism is on the rise and empathy is on the declining
angle. This may be supported by the fact that American believe that
they are far better than the rest of the world and frequently
associate themselves with success.
Narcissitic personality disorder is a diagnosable mental
illness that is differentiated with symptoms such as, grandiosity,
attention seeking, exaggerated behaviour ,excessive reference to
self identity with a chronic existence and severe existence. On the
other hand , Narcissitic style is somewhat similar to NPD but is
not chronic and that intense in nature.A pathological NPD showcases
false superiority over others, constant need for
gratification,requires excessive admiration,low empathetic behavior
etc.
