There is a need to take care of a lot many things when targeting children for children's products in today's world. These things include ethical advertising, not using explicit content, and avoid using any offensive term or statement. It is because such practices may put the organization in the lawsuit because of child welfare organizations and by the parents as well. Children are vulnerable, special care should be taken while targeting them.
Issues of targeting children from a brand manager's perspective:
1. A lot of care and observation are needed to design ethical marketing and promotional activities.
2. Sometimes it is hard to understand what is funny and what is offensive. A lot many advertising campaigns go wrong in a dilemma.
3. Targeting children must also convince their parents as their decisions are taken by them only. The pressure on the brand manager is to satisfy both of them.
