* This technique brings many benefits to Government, society, buisiness and the individual. Along with these benefits, there are disadvantage ls also for this technique.

* Pros ( advantages):

* It helps the Government and pollice to detect criminal activities or money laundering .

* It help Government agencies to dig and analyse the financial transactions of citizens.

* It helps the companies and manufactures to identify those who respond to the new campaigns and this helps the companies to sell their products.

* Banking : Data mining helps the bank people to get the loan information and Credit report of the people and to know the credit card transaction details to prevent fraudulent actvites.

* Cons ( Disadvantages)

* Security and Privacy issues are the main problems while using data mining applications.

* Personal information can be leaked from the application. Even hackers are getting the details form the application.

* Inaccuracy and misuse of information : Inaccuracy of information leads to faulty decision making process. Misuse of information may also occur .

* Certain people will take advantage over vulnerable groups.

Data mining is important in health care field. But there are advantages and disadvantages for this technology. They are;

*It can help in predicting Re admissions , hospital stay and planning necessary treatment measures through Predictive algorithm.

* Efficiency and reduced errors in calculating the standard ratios ( such as patient ratios), and analysis of present and past scenarios.  

* Helps in Clinical Research activities: Data mining application have an important role in Clinical Research activities, especially in analysis.

* Data mining application even helps in the treatment process by the means of Prescriptive analysis.

* Helps to identify the risk group population in patients .

*Privacy issues: Even the confidential medical records are in threat of lack of privacy due to data mining.
