Can our system of American government cope with the new and ongoing challenges of emergency management, or will we backslide and continue as business as normal?
What do you see as the challenges for the collaboration of homeland security and emergency management efforts?
Do you think that they can ever be integrated? Why or why not?
What policy changes or solution would you recommend to address these issues?
Yes, the american government system can manage the new and ongoing challenges of emergency management. The informations and data regarding every geographical regions can reduce the damages and can save the life of humans at emergency conditions upto an extend. The huge development in the fields of technology also favours to reduce the risk in emergency situations.
The homeland security is an effort by the nation to prevent the attacks from the terrorists or other countries. The challenges that corresponds to the homeland security and emergency management are information technology management, cyber security, border security, infrastructure security, transportation security etc.
Yes all of these challenges are integrated to each other since each of these can affect the other in various aspects.
The problems in IT management can be solved by implementing a proper plan and security control measures. Proper training should be given to the employees in the field of cyber security procedures and use of a firewall and antivirus applications can prevent most of these issues. Radars, proper communication facilities and networking security can be implemented to solve the infrastructure protection.
Thanks!..
