There are various types of fadding as described below

Selective fadding more prevalent for higher frequencies

Interference fadding: produced by the interference between upper and lower rays of the sky wave.

Absorption fadding: It occurs due to variations of signal strength with the different amount of absorption of waves absorbed by transmission.

Polarization fadding: occurs due to change in  polarization of the down commingled sky waves.

Skip fadding:oocurs at distance near the skip distance.
