Globalization and liberalization have resulted in increased competition, and companies seek skilled employees to be more expert and innovative at the business activities they carry out. Even with the increase in professional educations programs and those who enroll for them, the skill gap is only increasing. A recent survey (covering around 14,300 IT workers and professionals) found out that the skill gap for existing skills and those required for decision making is more than 75%. Certification holds immense value for the hiring organization, employees, and society as well. These are the instance where certification holds immense value.
Certification for Better Job Prospects
Hiring managers and companies will always prefer certified
employees who hold due credentials for performing job duties.
Certification holders pass through the different rigors of
academics and training, and hence the credential ensures that they
would be yielding the desired performance and possessing know-how
in the relevant matters and areas. Certifications may be very
important in critical areas, for instance, healthcare, and hence
communities will also benefit from it. Imagine a patient being
cared for and treated by an uncertified nurse or doctor! The
certified job aspirants and applicants also demonstrate their
skills and knowledge during the interview and hiring rounds. More
than 90% of hiring managers in IT look at the certifications in the
areas including cloud, digital marketing, networking, and others
before making a hiring decision.
Certification for Successful Workforce
Certification ensures that the professionals gaining employment
have the requisite skills and knowledge that is required by the
employers and/or the government regulations. Students who are
certified are also more confident and motivated and can better
succeed in the workplace. Certifications may also be mandatory by
law, in areas including healthcare. For instance, a community
pharmacist certification and licensure may only allow a pharma
graduate to work in a pharmacy retail store.
A new joiner who is certified will soon match the productivity
parameters. These individuals also get better salary and promotion
chances and have a positive impact on the growth and revenues of
the hiring organization.
