“There must be a God said the goldfish, otherwise who changes the water!” Write a one page reflection on the point behind this remark, based on your thinking about the cosmological argument. One page response.
Cosmological argument is a attempt to prove that god exists by the fact that things exist. There are several arguments that can be presented to prove the existence of God. It is good to begin from the fact of existence of the world. These arguments are referred to as Cosmological arguments.
The first cause arguments were given by Aristotle and Plato in 4th and 3rd century BC. Aristotle posited the first cause for everything that exists was the creator of the universe. Thomas Aquinas expanded aristotle's ideas in the 13 century AD and said that the cause of the universe itself is uncaused, the first cause is God. According to thomas it is observed fact that some things have a beginning and an ending. because of which they are capable of either being or not being. This is not necessary but is a contingent. if it was a necessary they could not have had a beginning nor could they have an end.
Kalam cosmological argument was
developed by muslim philosophers in the middle ages. According to
Craig, the kalam argument is
1. Whatever begins to exist has a cause of its existence
2. The universe began to exist
3. therefore, the universe has a cause of its existence
