Discuss whether ethnicity and culture influence risk factors for heart disease. Give reasons for your answers.
1.Ethnicity affects risk of heart disease
nonmodifiable risk factors for developing heart disease are
age,gender and ethnicity.
Statistics show that in the UK;
* if you are a south Asian backgroud ,you may be at an increased
risk of developing coronary heart disease,whic could lead to heart
attack.
*if you are over 65 and a south Asian background ,you are at a
greater risk of having stroke.
*if you are a African Caribbean background,you may be more likely
to have high blood pressure.
*women who reaces to menopause also risk for developing heart
diseases ,because of hormonal imbalance.
2.cultural influence in developing heart disease
this can be explained as modifiable factors for developing heart
disease.
*obesity-if the obesity controlled by the healthy dietary habits
,we can reduce the risk of developing heart disease.
*stress-it needs to adapt stress control measures to avoid heart
diseases.
*exercise -regular exercises helps to promote good heart function
and removes excess fat in the body and prevents heart diseases.
