Based upon the readings and lectures thus far, discuss your view on the nature of sin and its effects on relationships. How does sin play a role in friendships, parenting, marriages, the workplace, and what is God’s plan of redemption?
One of the most important concepts in the history of religion is sin. It helped them reduce the level of human beings thus, they were able to create a god who is not only supreme but also a forgiver. This would mean that religions were able to thrive by making people guilty and offering them help in the name of god. When people make mistakes that are mentioned in their scriptures, they would feel guilty irrespective of the environment they are in such as, family, friends, workplace etc. Thus, religions have played a major role in establishing morality and ethics apart from the social norms in societies in which they were operating. However, religions were not able to stop people from violating their teachings because human beings are so complex and unique that they are consumed by their emotions thus engage in deviant behaviours. Nevertheless, religions are very helpful in making people realize their mistakes and get comfort and relief with the help of an unseen god.
