If you could create a poll or survey, what would your topic be? Define your population. One to three questions you would ask, and how you would graph the results.
Solution)
Survey (1)
Suppose , In this example
Population = School
Sample =50 students.
Survey Question= What is your favourate colour.
You want to know the favorite colors for people at your school, but don't have the time to ask everyone.
Solution: Choose 50 people at random:
· stand at the gate and choose "the next person to arrive" each time
· or choose people randomly from a list and then go and find them!
· or you could choose every 5th person
Your results will hopefully be nearly as good as if you asked everyone.
If you choose a person and they do not want to answer, record "no answer" on the survey form and mention how many people did not answer in your report.
After completing a sampling survey you can use the information to make a prediction as to how the rest of the population might respond.
And your results are better when you ask more people. and use bar graph to show different colours liked by 50 students.
Survey(2)
let us consider another simple survey:
My population is all male and female online students.
My sample would be random and consist of 30 students in a statistics course.
One question I would ask is, "What is your age?"
Another question I would ask is, "On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, how do you rate your computer skills?
" I would then use a line graph to compare age to computer skills...
