Among the medical community, addiction is considered a chronic disease, but this concept seems difficult for some to understand or believe. What is it about addiction, do you believe, that keeps it a taboo subject? Depending on your socio-cultural background (ladies taboo to date after being married why men it is not. homosexuality is taboo in my country NIGERIA) , you may have been brought up with certain beliefs about addicts and addiction. Reflect on the dominant beliefs of your society. Do these beliefs stigmatize addicts? How do the dominant beliefs in your society either help or hinder addicts from receiving treatment? Every country in world has hos own culture and tradition, however, in some countries are open minded and accept the reality. But some conservative countries in Asia, Africa do not accept the reality and call it as a taboo. And one of them is married women having an affair, but men are exceptional for them it is not considered as a taboo.

There a reasons for this, since childhood women are thought that they are made for only one men, and they have to marry that men and live for him and die for him. And having an affair is not our culture after or before marriage. This things are thought to women since childhood, because women are sacred in their culture and she is made for only one man and that is her husband. It shows the inequality between men and women in their culture. Men are considered as superior than women and they take the family name forward, so parents give them special privileges. And their every mistakes is ignored. But women are below men and they are kept to give birth to children and to looks after the house. And having an affair is forbidden and is a taboo on society because it will bring shame to the family. But men can have and for them it is not a taboo, because it shows that how menly they are
