Define levels of substance use and abuse.
Substance Use/Abuse:
The term "Substance Use" refers to the use of drugs or alcohol and
includes substances such as cigarette, illegal drugs, prescription
drugs,inhalents and solvents. A Substance Use problem occurs when
using alcohol or other drugs causes harm to you or to
others.
Excessive use of
psychoactive drugs such as alcohol,pain medication or
illegal
drugs . It can lead to
physical,social or emotional harm.
Drug Abuse:
The use of illegal drugs or the use of prescription or over the
counter drugs for purpose or other than those for
which they are meant to be used or in excessive amount is known as
Drug Abuse . Drug Abuse may lead to social,
physical and job related problems.
