Hazards example – Physical hazards are one of the types where
due to environmental factors one can be affected, a great example
would be radiation that occurs in Powerplant while casting
aluminum. These radiations emit harmful lights which can create eye
disease or even complete blindness if dealt with carelessness.
Safety eye gear can easily reduce the effect. Same goes with the
welding work; the firework emits light rays and radiations which
could be harmful to eyes and skin. To avoid this helmet, eye gears
and hand gloves are required.
PPE stands for Personal protective equipment which is to protect
the employees during working hours. The range of threats could vary
but these safety gears could save precious life and cost. Missing
to follow the guidelines regarding PPE the company should take
responsibility and they must ensure everyone follows it. Ex.
Consider employees working in a steel plant where during the
production some toxic gases like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide,
and methane are released; a person without the support of PPE must
face serious health issues by respiring these toxic gases.
