1. In the field of medicine and health : Nanotechnology is emerging as a brand new subject in effective drug delivery, cancer and tuberculosis treatment, surgery, immune response, antibiotic resistence etc. With the help of nano medicine repairment of damaged early detection and prevention, improved diagnosis, proper treatment of follow up diseases is possible.
2. In the field of electronics : The emerging technology has lead to faster, smaller and cheaper portable devices which can store huge amount of data. Flexible and stretchable devices like semiconductor nanomembranes are being developed which are used in smartphone and e-reader displays. Television and ultra high definitation are using more vibrant colors which are eye pleasing and also energy efficient.
3. In the field of transportation : Nanotechnology is used on photovoltaic , for making cheap, light weight and more efficient cars, trucks, aeroplane, and spacecrafts which can reduce the combustion of engine pollutants by nano porous filters giving cleaner exhaust and leading to significant fuel saving. Other Nano-engineered materials in automotive products include polymer nanocomposites structural parts; high-power rechargeable battery systems; thermoelectric materials for temperature control; lower rolling-resistance tires and high-efficiency/low-cost sensors.
4. Contributing to Environment : With the advancement in nanotechnology, storage and conversion of energy from one form to other can be achieved thus giving clean and renewable energy sources. The technology can be incorporated into solar panels to convert sunlight to electricity more efficiently, promising inexpensive solar power in the future. An epoxy containing carbon nanotubes is being used to make windmill blades that are longer, stronger, and lighter-weight than other blades to increase the amount of electricity that windmills can generate.
